Spring, 2013. A few months into the year had been completed, bone-chilling winds whipped up dead leaves still clinging to the freshly grown grass, luminous in fluorescent green. Misty clouds caressed the air as the sun awoke from the horizon, bringing only the illusion of warmth as it’s rays en-laced the clear sapphire sky. At this time of year, animals were awakening from their enduring winter solitude, endless sleep which causes them to go into a state known as hibernation. In the United Kingdom, various animals such as fox’s, badgers, shrews, door mice and other animals that rely on winter are waking up from their slumber, venturing out with weepy eyes into the newer, yet still chilling wilderness. Through the thickening maze of mist, in the fields near a group of houses in a rather hectic town known as Basingstoke, something stirs in the marshes. On the edge of the town, a small swamp land, surrounded in water, reeds and mud covers an area before the tree line forest, just behind the gardens of a grouping of houses. Here, only protected species such as water voles, natter-jack toads and rainbow trout made a living in the tiny swamp land, the governing body of the town did not allow anyone near the swamp, it was dangerously deep and sticky in some areas, one could become trapped in the thick mud, drowning.
On the morning of the 22nd of March, out of a rather subdued house, leaves Pamela, a local school girl in the last half of her final year. In the last year, she had to complete many exams and found it rather tedious to walk back and forth to school. Her yellow shirt shone brightly as the pale morning sun glistened down upon her, her black trousers as black as coal and her dark blue blazer completing her ensemble were the focus of attention for many people unknown to her, let alone the annoying boys at school. With her hair tied up in a pony tail, she continued walking across the frost kissed pavement, her cute black shoes making prodding sounds as she walked peacefully. Pamela lived at home all by herself, her bills and payments were managed by her vast fortune she secretly kept stashed under her mattress in her room. She resided in a house surrounded by many others overlooking the forest where the swamps, caves, fallen logs creating deep forested areas and mud pools were found.
She would often walk through the forest to take her mind of stresses, even though they were minimal, and she would study the many plants, insects and other animals that made their home there. As she hadn't visited the forest in a while, Pamela was becoming alone and without a family to tend to her emotional needs, she was becoming saddened. Every day was harder and harder as she became separated daily from her friends. Hannah, Amber and Lottie soon forgot about Pamela, deriving all their attention on boys and exams, she was soon completely alone. That same day, biology class was relatively quiet, but the teacher babbled on about the possibility of invasive species coming into the natural habitat in their town forest. Pamela couldn't help but giggle a tad. Invasive species? What was this women going on about? She clearly had delusions of grandeur, her hair was wild and glasses large. Funnily enough Pamela had noticed something strange on the edge of a cave deep in the forest once, but dismissed it as simply a strange mucus-like substance.
Pamela grabbed her brown satchel bag and walked out of the school gate. She took a glimpse at her friends as they waved her over, perhaps they still like me? She pondered to herself as she warily made her way over to them.
‘Hey Pamela!’’ shouted Hannah in delight.
‘’I haven’t seen you in ages! What’s up?’’
‘’Oh not much, just...chilling as people do’, she replied with content as a fake smile took essence upon her face. Amber, Lottie and even Vera were ecstatic to see her – maybe things weren't as dior she once imagined. The usual smile she wore appeared daily as she grew more social once again, going to the cinema, bowling and gym on weekends as well as getting asked out by many boys as her popularity grew tremendously. In her mind, things were finally at peace.
One day, Pamela was walking home alone after saying goodbye to her friends. It was a sunny afternoon, rather warm, around 20 degrees celsius She had her long lush luxurious brown wavy hair down and it flapped gently in the warm breeze as she continued walking carefully home. She opened the door and wade her way upstairs to find something which greatly worried her. Along the wooden floor was a strange trail of mud, as if a giant snail had made it’s slow way through her house, puzzled she cleaned the floor before checking to see if whatever made the marks was still lingering hidden in her house somewhere. Hysteria gripped her as she was confused at how something could get into her house with it being locked up and secure.
That night, she sat up in bed in her bra and underwear as she tried to solve the mystery of the mud trail. It looked like a long creature had made it, maybe a legless lizard or a snake? ‘Legless lizard?!’ she laughed at herself as she realised the ridiculousness of her idea. It must’ve been a snake she thought, but snakes in Basingstoke don’t reach the width of the trail left on her floor, which she estimated at around 30-Cm wide. With her brain fried, Pamela drifted off to sleep, the rain pouring down outside, crashing like mortars against the sides of her house. The next morning, Pamela woke once again, ‘ahhhhh’, she yawned as she stretched her body in tiredness. She grabbed the paper from the doorway and opened it as she sipped a fresh cup of hot milk. To her astonishment, there was a reward for the capture of a mystery snake estimated to be over 25ft in length wandering around Basingstoke. Pamela read a quote ‘the snake was sighted early last night near Buxton Hill, slipping away quickly into the undergrowth’. She froze. Her house was in the same spot the snake was sighted!
Panicking, the young girl immediately threw down the paper and frantically searched her house for a torch and her satchel bag, but as she was about to walk out of her house, on the TV a news presenter announced that everyone should remain indoors whilst a professional search was undertaken by scientists. She laughed and sat down, ‘they’ll never find it’ she giggled profusely. Pamela understood that this large snake was almost certainly a constrictor and would probably be out finding prey, maybe rabbits or rats or something like that. Meanwhile, a huge female green anaconda was swimming around in the swamp near Buxton Hill looking for prey alone and large enough to satisfy her hunger. For months she had gone without a meal, after being locked up in that aero-plane all that time and abused.
Her bulk effortlessly glided swiftly through the muddy water as she traveled through the dark silty muddy water. Hunger gripped her, she couldn't find anything large enough, something healthy, fit, suitable and in her opinion worthy. She slithered out of the swamp edge and made her way to a hole in a wooden fence nearby, slipping through (with difficulty), as she gazed upon a garden overgrown and very wet and muddy, plants and rocks were the perfect cover for her bulk and she coiled herself up and rested. That night, she constantly woke up as she detected exuberant scent molecules in the air, but they would dissipate every so often. It showed her that a large prey item was nearby and she was on alert all night, hoping that she would maybe catch sight of whatever made this specific smell.
The next morning, Pamela did her hair, showered, and put on her uniform. She was feeling amazing, truly wonderful, today was the day where she would ask out a boy who liked her and she was nervous.Hovering outside, she looked and saw that a dog had left it’s collar in a pool of water, she sighed and opened the back-gate to her garden which looked more like the ever-glades with the covering of enormous trees. No one could see into Pamela’s garden because of the foliage and never assumed anything important went on there. The anaconda glared out of the reeds, wandering what was making the vibrations in the water when it suddenly began drooling a lot! Before it stood probably the most attractive, best smelling, easiest, loneliest prey she had ever seen!
The snake couldn't believe her luck as she watched her intently, waiting for her to come close enough for an ambush. Pamela was oblivious to the danger and carried on wandering deeper into the swamp, somehow an element of curiosity gripped her as the muddy water now reached up to her waist, making her lower half wet and dirty with mud and water. The anaconda positioned herself behind Pamela, analysing exactly when to strike, it had the perfect plan for her but it would have to be quick and agile, human prey is extremely difficult to capture and actually eat, so she would be twice as efficient. Pamela came within two feet of the huge snake and stopped, looking around and above as she smelled a peculiar must in the air, ‘hello??’ she whispered gently, hoping to get a reply. No one answered. Frightened and alone, Pamela decided to head back to her porch, but just as she was about to turn around....wham!
The anaconda shrieked and launched forward, catching the young girl completely off guard as the snake grabbed her shoulder with its sharp mouth causing her to go ‘arghhhhh!’ in pain. Pamela tried to remove the head of the snake but it was not moving and then she felt herself become spun around and round and round quickly, splashing the water around her as the snakes massive body entwined itself around her upper body, three chunky coils gripped around her, her arms pinned to her sides. ‘Ughh! What the hell?’ she shouted, but the anaconda then grabbed her face sideways and twisted her body, adjusting the coils and causing Pamela to moan ‘mmmmmmmm!’ As the snake licked her face, a few more coils were wrapped around her legs, stopping her useless kicking, subduing her more and more. She was disgusted as the wet tongue of the snake massaged her cheeks and lips, ‘Ugh! Get away!’ but then the coils began tightening around her, encircling her school girl physique tighter and tighter, she made faces unusual to her, closing her eyes and gritting her teeth as the air was forced from her lungs with each squeeze.
Suddenly, a large belly coil twisted tighter, Pamela then looked upwards as a cloud of air could be seen leaving her mouth. She was in real trouble, not only was the squeezing intensifying but the snakes tail was accidentally tickling her feet underwater, causing her to use up more oxygen as she smiled and made squeeze faces at the same time. Now her body was really feeling the slow, steady ‘squeeeeeeeeeeze’ as the coils rotated in a vice like grip, choking the precious air from her lungs. As her eyes widened, the snake then once again grabbed her face sideways and tightened all around, weakening Pamela so much that as the snake released her from its filthy mouth, she looped her head to the side of the coils, awake but powerless to resist anymore. Saliva and mucus enveloped her face as she looked up in horror, the anacondas mouth widening to swallow her whole. The entire insides of the anaconda began to coat her body, as if it was drooling on her from within.
Her body was pushed slowly in to its maw, the mud and water around them splashing against her limp body. It’s jaws walked over and over, stretching wide to compensate for her size, having rarely eaten such large prey, the anaconda was straining. It’s devilish tongue licked her neck, moving down as it ‘sucked’ her further inside. A sound similar to that of a wheezing child uttered from the anaconda’s windpipe, trying to breathe and feed simultaneously. As it reached the difficult point of her shoulders, the snake lifted it’s head up and raised Pamela in to the air, her legs dangling, yet kicking slightly in reflex. Now she began to move in much easier, and the anaconda continued to swallow it’s magnificent specimen of prey whole.
It’s eyes were wide open, as if in a state of shock, drooling and feeding on the gorgeous body of Pamela. Her shoulders we’re bypassed with another suck and now her upper-body was next. It was without question that no one was witnessing the events unfolding. In the privacy of a swamp-like area, the anaconda could swallow its victim whole in comfort. Now at her breasts, the anaconda opened wider to take them in, licking in-between then as more of it's mucus covered Pamela's limp body. More and more her body was absorbed in to the snake's body. It was a total of three hours before she was resting in its stomach, appearing as a large bulge in the snake.
She knew her days were over, and as she traveled through the serpents body ever so slowly she realised that at least she made one thing happy in her life. As she reached the belly, the snake went underwater to rest and digest her meal in privacy. Years passed and the mystery of Pamela was never solved until a lone shoe was found floating in the water in her garden, covered in saliva and other bodily fluids.
